Online Booking

Can clients see buffer time when booking online?

No. Buffer time before and after appointments is invisible to clients during online booking. They only see the service duration. Processing time, however, is included in the visible duration because the client is present during that time.

What clients see

When a client books online, they see the service name, price, and duration. Buffer time is not included in the displayed duration because it's your internal setup and cleanup time — not time the client spends at your business.

Processing time, on the other hand, is included in the duration because the client is present during processing (e.g., sitting with colour developing). A service with 45 minutes of active time and 30 minutes of processing shows as a 75-minute appointment to the client.

How availability is calculated

Although clients don't see buffer time, the system accounts for it when showing available slots. If a service has a 10-minute buffer after, the system ensures there's enough time for both the appointment and the buffer before the next booking.

  • Buffer before: time is reserved before the appointment start
  • Buffer after: time is reserved after the appointment ends
  • These buffer windows won't be offered to other clients
  • The team member and resource are blocked during buffers

What appears on the scheduler

On your internal scheduler, buffer time appears as hatched blocks before and after the appointment. This gives your team visibility into the reserved time without confusing it with actual appointment time. Processing time appears as part of the appointment block.
