What is gift cards?
Salon gift cards are prepaid digital credits that staff sell in-salon or clients buy online, then redeem when paying for appointments or retail. Bella Booking offers both amount-based cards with preset or custom denominations and service-specific cards tied to a particular treatment. In-salon sales settle through any payment method; online purchases run through Stripe Checkout. Each card carries a unique code, custom designs match your branding, and a dedicated report tracks sales, redemptions, and outstanding balances.
Digital gift cards are prepaid credits your clients can buy from you — for a monetary amount or a specific service. Staff can sell a gift card from the business dashboard on any sale (settled via cash, manual card, or other), and clients can buy them themselves through your online booking page via Stripe Checkout. Either way the recipient gets a unique code, redeemable as a payment method during appointment checkout or POS. Custom gift card designs match your brand. Online purchase via Stripe
Clients purchase gift cards through your online booking page using Stripe Checkout. Credit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay accepted.
Custom gift card designs
Upload your own gift card design images to match your brand. Choose from built-in designs or your own when configuring gift card settings.
Redemption at checkout
Gift cards appear as a payment method during appointment checkout and POS sales. Partial redemption is supported — remaining balance stays on the card.
Gift card management
View all gift cards with status, balance, purchase and expiry dates. Void cards when needed. Track usage history per card.
Automated notifications
Customisable email and SMS templates for gift card purchase confirmations, delivery, and expiry reminders.
Gift Card Summary report
Track gift card sales, redemptions, revenue, and outstanding balances over any date range. Compare against previous periods.
Online redemption at booking
Clients can apply gift cards when booking online to cover the deposit or full payment amount. Enter the code at the payment step and the balance is deducted.
My Gift Cards portal
Clients view all their gift cards and remaining balances from a dedicated My Gift Cards page in the online booking portal.
How gift cards work
Enable gift cards
Go to Settings → Gift Cards to enable the feature. Configure denominations, custom amounts, expiry, and gift card designs.
Client purchases
Clients visit your online booking page and purchase a gift card — choosing an amount or a specific service. Payment is processed via Stripe Checkout.
Gift card delivered
The recipient receives a digital gift card with a unique code via email. The purchaser gets a confirmation.
Redeem at checkout
When the recipient visits, apply the gift card as a payment method during checkout. The balance is deducted automatically.

Frequently asked questions
What types of gift cards can I sell?
Two types: amount-based (client chooses a monetary value) and service-based (client purchases a gift card for a specific service). Both are redeemed at checkout.
Can I sell gift cards in-salon?
Yes. Go to Sales → Gift Cards → Sell Gift Card. Enter the amount or pick a service, the recipient name and email, and choose a payment method. The card is activated immediately, the code is emailed to the recipient, and you settle through cash, manual card, or other. No Stripe required for this path.
Can clients purchase gift cards online?
Yes. Gift cards are purchased through your online booking page using Stripe Checkout, supporting credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Can I use custom designs?
Yes. Upload your own gift card design images in Settings → Gift Cards. You can use built-in designs or your own branded designs.
Do gift cards expire?
You can configure an expiry period in settings. Expiry reminders are sent automatically before the card expires.
Can a gift card be used for partial payment?
Yes. If the checkout total exceeds the gift card balance, the remaining amount can be paid with another method. The gift card balance is fully used first.
Can I void a gift card?
Yes. Go to the gift cards section, find the card, and void it. Voided cards cannot be redeemed.
